Reiki

Is life stressing you out?  Do you feel that lately your energy level is low?  A Reiki session may help you!

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is one of the most holistic systems for balancing and harmonizing your body, mind, emotions and spirit.  It encourages deep relaxation and the release of stress and tension and promotes healing.   A Reiki Practitioner can administer Reiki in a variety of ways, by certain hand positions on the body, or remotely.  The client remains fully clothed during a treatment.  Reiki opens blocked chakras and clears energy, leaving you feeling at peace and relaxed.  Don’t live in Wilmington NC?  No worries – a remote Reiki session is just as effective.  If interested in a remote session, please email me at karrie@karriew.com for more information.

Please note that  Reiki Practitioners do not diagnose or perform medical treatments.  A Reiki session will help the body reach a level of relaxation to bring the system back in balance.  Multiple sessions may be necessary.  A positive attitude is key!

If you feel you can benefit from a Reiki session, please email me to set up an appointment at karrie@karriew.com

I am a certified Usui/Holy Fire Reiki II Practitioner.

Tarot Readings

Have you ever had a Tarot reading before?  If so, were you amazed by the revelations?  If you’ve never had a reading, do you ever wish for a means of predicting events or receiving guidance for a particular problem?   Tarot card readings are uncannily accurate about current or future events.  I’ve been a Tarot reader since 2009, and I’m constantly amazed by readings, as are my clients.  Sometimes they resonate immediately,  other times I get a call or email several weeks or even months later and everything I saw in the cards was true.  The key to a successful reading is to keep an open mind.

Individual, in person, Tarot readings are $40 for a 30 minute session or $80 for a  60 minute session (Pendulum divination included in 60 minute session).   I can also offer a remote, personal Tarot reading for $50.

To schedule a reading, please email karrie@karriew.com

Readings are also fun for casual parties, business events or just a gathering of your friends.   If interested in having readings for your guests, please email me at karrie@karriew.com and provide me with the event particulars (date/time/number of guests) and we can discuss rates.

I look forward to offering an insight into your future!

2018 Azalea Festival

Wilmington, North Carolina  -Home of the Azalea Festival!  Every Welcome to Wilmington sign has this tagline.

Since we moved to #ILM from #ATL in November 2017, we have been eagerly anticipating the Spring to see what the hype is all about.  The Azalea Festival is the largest festival of its kind in North Carolina.  Founded in 1948, more than 200,000 are expected to attend the four-day festival, April 11-15, 2018, featuring a parade, street fair, home and garden tours and much more, including…the crowning of the annual Azalea Queen.  I checked out the list of past Azalea Queens and was surprised to find Kelly Ripa, and 70’s star Joan Van Ark, to name a few!

Wilmington is a beautiful city , surrounded by the Cape Fear River, Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic.  I enthusiastically look forward to #ILM in the Spring, just a few short weeks away.   I think I missed the deadline to Volunteer for this festival, but sign me up in the Fall for 2019!

GenX – not to be confused with Generation X!

Jeff and I started hearing ‘GenX’ mentioned in the news after we moved to Wilmington in November 2017, but we didn’t pay too much attention to it.   After all, what is new to report on Generation X?   After about two weeks, we started to focus on the news stories.   City Council meetings were all discussing this mysterious GenX.  Apparently the Cape Fear River is being contaminated by a chemical compound called GenX,  and it is polluting our water source.  What what?!   That got our attention.  Locals were telling us to drink tap water at our own peril.  Get a reverse osmosis filtration system, that is the only thing that will work on this chemical.    What the heck have we walked into here?   Apparently there are several chemical companies ‘up the river’ in Fayetteville that were/are dumping into the Cape Fear River.   As of November 2017, Chemours  is no longer dumping waste into the river, but there are still trace amounts of GenX showing up in the water.  There are two other companies in Fayetteville who continue to dump chemical waste into the Cape Fear River.  Needless to say, we use bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth and for our pets.  We don’t know the long range effects of drinking the water, time will tell.

What happens now and how bad is it really? Check out this article by StarNews Online:

ATL to ILM- Lifestyle Adjustments!

My significant other,  Jeff,  and I recently moved to Wilmington, North Carolina from Atlanta, Georgia.   We love living on the coast with easy access to the beach!

September 2017 we decided to put our house on the market in Alpharetta, Georgia, a northern suburb of Atlanta, and move to the East coast.  November 28, 2017, we arrived and haven’t looked back!

This Blog will share our adventures as we check out the food scene (did I mention Jeff is a Chef?), explore the beaches and figure out what we want to do with our lives…
